Fixed Term Contract until Feb 2022, 25 hours per week

The Security Controller will be responsible for all administrative aspects of Millbrook Special Vehicles’ information and physical asset security processes and procedures and support the wider Millbrook group organisation in the application of vetting procedures and records.

Role & Responsibilities

  • To ensure that personnel, information and asset security processes & procedures are effectively managed in accordance with current policy, controls and standards
  • Ensure employees and contractors are correctly vetted to meet HMG requirements, including the security management of visitors and contractors
  • Responsible for the security element of the new hire process, including Baseline Vetting, the Vetting process and management of the Security Database
  • Act as a super user for specific security related IT systems
  • Responsible for oversight of the secure storage, destruction and accountability of Company Sensitive and Protectively Marked material
  • Responsible for effectively delivering and overseeing security awareness and compliance advice to project teams and senior management
  • Record all security incidents and assist in their investigation and reporting
  • Undertake audits of PM material and contribute to wider site audits in support of HMG SPF and other internal policies
  • Other day to day aspects of the role include typical procurement activities in support of projects (raising purchase requests/orders, invoicing).
  • Any other reasonable requests from management aligned to the above matters
  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook group staff at all times

Person Specification


  • Security related qualification (ISO 27001 training or similar preferred)


  • Awareness of ISMS and IA good practice
  • Previous experience working within a UK Government security environment or Defence sector, or suitable commercial security environment and familiarity with HMG Security Policy Framework (essential)
  • Experience with handling sensitive material and managing all Security aspects of an accredited facility (essential)
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, 22301 & 27001 standards (preferred)
  • Familiar with security compliance requirements contained within HMG SPF documentation set or military equivalent

  • Good planning, organisational and administrative skills
  • Familiar with ERP systems (MS Dynamics, SAP desirable)
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word)
